So Mostly We do things because we see it as an escape from our routine life. it feels like the only thing that'll make us feel better. We tell ourselves that we'll take a break for dinner but then, we end up eating junk food instead. And then, when we finally do get to bed, we sleep for hours only to wake up feeling even more tired than before.
And over the time, It feels like life is just one big uphill battle and it's exhausting trying to keep up. i bet you would call it taking a break or "self care" but do you know what actually qualifies as self-care ?

The Self Care Zone - "Self-Care Matrix".
Usually when one acts selflessly, they are able to achieve greater happiness and success. However, When one puts others needs first and ignores self needs, they enter the zone of being selfless. And as a result, one becomes dependent on others for fulfilling their needs. Over the time, it becomes damaging in nature. A recent study found that people who are excessively selfless tend to be more unhappy and less successful than those who are not so selfless. The research team concluded that this type of behavior is actually harmful to both the individual and the group.
Careless self-care is when we do things for ourselves and others without putting any boundaries in place and without taking into account our own well-being and others well-being. Here are some examples of careless self-care: Going out with friends every night instead of taking time for self. Ordering fast food for family every other day. Eating junk food every day instead of making healthy choices. Sleeping in late every day. We should all take time for ourselves to balance our life and work, but it's important to make sure we're doing it in a way that doesn't hurt us in the long run.
Selfish self-care is when one is too much indulged into self and ignores others needs. It's not being considerate of near ones. Only thinking about self and what one can get out of the situation. Granted, there are times when it's necessary to take care of self first and foremost, but usually one must be available for others in order to sustain a healthy and meaningful relationship. sometime even lending a listening ear might not seem like much at the time, but it could mean a lot to the person in need.
Self-care is when you take care of yourself and your own needs, before worrying about others. It's when you prioritize your own happiness and satisfaction, instead of always putting others first. And for a selfless person it's definitely not easy – in fact, it can be really tough to put self first sometimes! But if a person is mindful of where they stand, self-care will eventually pay off big time in terms of emotional wellness.
What actually is self care?
Self-care is about taking care of yourself so that you can be available to take care of others. Self-care isn't just limited to about taking a break every now and then, it is a means of restoring your own energy, which promotes healthy physical and emotional well-being.
The most important thing is to find what works best for you and to stick with it. There is no “right” way to do self care – only the way that works best for you!
Why self care is important ?
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), self-care is important because it can help promote health, prevent disease, and help people better cope with illness.
Specific forms of self-care have also been linked to different health and wellness benefits, including a longer life. Finding a sense of purpose in life, physical activity and healthy sleep have all been connected to an increased lifespan.

Individuals who are chronically tired or exhausted may be struggling with a lack of self care.
